Death Inquest

Overview

Either by natural causes or by medical or other negligence, sudden deaths are a common occurrence. Death inquest procedure provides the framework through which the family members of the deceased are in search of the cause of death.

This role is exercised by Judges of the District Courts, the “Coroner”. During this process, a testimony must be presented, through which the cause, which caused the death will be presented. The process has a specific purpose, and it is not for the Coroner to decide whether a person is responsible for the cause of death.

The role of the Coroner is to decide, for what cause, that has led to death. The decision, of course, depending on its content, may lead to court action against individuals who may have criminal responsibility for the death.

In such procedures, our firm may represent the family of the deceased, either as an observer of the process, or by challenging testimony and countering witnesses in order to prove the real causes of a death, for example medical negligence.
